I like to edit my images online. I like easy to use tools that I do not have to install on my computer, tools that I can access everywhere given that I have Internet connection.
I especially lookfor image editing tools that allow my to insert URL for som CC licenced photo and making me able to change it in matter of sekunds to make it fit for my web projects - which means most of the time croping the picture, resizing, making it sharper and brighter.
The online image editors get better and better. Who needs Photoshop or Gimp? Here is a picture of myself taken by myself run through posterizing effect on VicImager.
Here is comparison of tools (source digg.com):

I have a webpage where I collect tools for my students to work with pictures http://fyrirlestrar.khi.is/salvor/myndvinnsla

I am trying out a free and easy way for my students in Iceland to have slides with narration on the web. Maybe it is not so easy, there are four steps:
I wish we have Slideshare.com with narration. That would make this task easier. But powerpoint, moviemaker, photobucket and elgg are all easy tools that many students already master so it is just using these tools for something new. Students who have trouble using Camtasia could use this method. They do not need to insert the movie into photobucket, they can upload it to my files in elgg
Photobucket seems much easier to use than Youtube.

I am now trying Elgg with big student group (150 students) and also one small graduate student group (16 students). I am now doing lots of stuff with wiki, especially wikimedia projects. The big student group is using Web CT and the small student group is using Moodle.
I just found out there exists Elgg-MediaWiki Integration

<![CDATA[The last few months I have been busy doing something else than adding posts to my Elgg blog. I have been very much involved in wikis and I made a project Catch the Wiki Bus with my students. I have a new blog in Icelandic http://salvor.blog.is because the biggest newspaper in Iceland has opened a popular blogging service where many journalists and social activists blog. Right now blogging is a hype in Iceland and many journalists and TV personnel have their blogs and much wider part of the population reads blogs. My blog has readers around 300 to 1000 pers day which is higher than I have experienced before. I go with the hype, I have tried to add at least one blog per day.]]>
